Second, the material of the slip ring

As we know if we start to design a slip ring, the first confirmed information is the rater current and voltage. The second we should confirmed with our customer is the material of the slip ring.

There are many materials optional in the conductive slip ring according to the different environment, such as tin bronze, silicon brass, 2Cr13 stainless steel, 45# forged steel. Insulation classes are B, F, H and C(130℃, 155℃, 180℃, 180℃ and above). We can design non-standard collector rings. First of all, ask for each other's drawings. If the other party does not have drawings, we need to ask about the parameters of collecting ring, mainly including: number of channels (or number of channels), current, installation space, installation form (through hole, flange or other forms) integral or split type, speed, whether protection is made.

The function of the slip ring is to electrically connect and transmit power and signal, and the first choice must have excellent electrical contact performance. Since the contact method of the conductive ring is electrical sliding contact, it needs to have abrasion resistance and electrical corrosion resistance. We know that Ag is the best for conductivity, followed by Cu, Au, Al. However, these metals have low hardness and poor wear resistance. In order to make up for this shortcoming, we will add other metal elements to these metals according to actual application requirements. Increase material hardness to enhance wear resistance, commonly known as ternary alloy!
