First consideration is the special design. Medical slip rings must pass FDA Class II certification, and the materials must reach medical-grade 316L stainless steel or PEEK polymer. In MRI-compatible equipment, non-magnetic titanium alloy slip rings are required, and non-contact magnetic fluid sealing technology is used to avoid interference with the imaging magnetic field.

Medical equipment has extremely high requirements for the cleanliness, reliability and low noise of gas-liquid slip rings, and is mainly used in the following key components.

The X-ray tube and detector of the CT machine need to rotate at a speed of dozens of revolutions per minute, and coolant circulation is required to prevent overheating. The gas-liquid slip ring is embedded in the rotating gantry to transmit deionized water (cooling the X-ray tube) and high-voltage power signals. For example, in the third-generation dual-source CT, the slip ring needs to support more than 200 kW of power transmission and 10 L/min of coolant flow, and must pass biocompatibility certification (such as ISO 13485) to eliminate any risk of leakage.
